COVID-19 pandemic and safety of taxi services



During these difficult times, most of us worked from home. However, there are a few areas that require employees to enter their office. In addition, many people do not own their own cars. This is where the role of taxi services is needed.


Since the beginning of covid-19, we have ensured that our driver community has access to all resources, information and support to ensure their safety.

By strictly following safety measures such as hygiene before and after the ride forcing our drivers and customers to wear a mask, we have taken every precaution to ensure safety throughout the ride. We also provide regular training modules on new safety procedures and ensure that all driver partners are trained and adhere strictly to hygiene and safety procedures.   • Instruct sick drivers to stay home.

  • Ensure that car door handles and interior surfaces are regularly cleaned and disinfected. 

  • Give drivers disinfectants and cleaning supplies.

  • Instruct drivers to lower car windows to increase airflow.

  • Provide all staff wear face masks  with at least two layers.

  • Require all customers to wear face masks.

  • If a passenger is being transported to or from a hospital or shows signs of respiration, open car windows. 

  • Ask passengers to sit in the back seat for a distance.

  • Reduce the number of passengers that drivers can drive at the same time

  • Ensure that policies encourage drivers to report any safety and health problems.

  • Passengers with COVID-19 symptoms should be referred to a testing center for immediate evaluation, and isolation from home until their results are obtained.

  • In addition to regular cleaning, the area that comes in contact with the hands should be cleaned and disinfected as follows:


  • at least once a day

  • when it looks dirty

  • after referring patients for treatment (eg to and from the hospital and other heal

  • Car owners / owners should provide all drivers with proper disinfection products / wipes for their vehicles.


  • Drivers and passengers should wash hand with soap and water or use a hand sanitizer (40 - 70% alcohol concentration) 

  • Use a hand sanitizer after handling money or assisting with passenger personal items.
